Join the locals who walk the beach from sunrise to sunset reguardless of the weather.
Early morning swimmers brave these warmer Indian Ocean waters. Surfing, canoeing and sailing Hobie Cats (available for hire from the beach) are also favorite pastimes.
A view of a newly developed wetlands area at the mouth of the Silvermine River can be seen from your cottage.
The wetlands are home to a vast variey of bird life and just a pleasant walk away.
There are train stations in Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek which will take you into downtown Cape Town or the other direction to the old seaport of Simonstown.
Close by to Simonstown you hear the Hee Hawing of the Jackass Penguins.
A visit to the Penguin colony at the lovely secluded Boulders Beach is a must.
Bring your swim suit. You'll want to take a swim in this bay.
On your way back stop for tea at the Tibetan Teahouse, a great way to recharge yourself.
For those who wish to have a bit of outdoor exercise, rent a bike and explore the beautiful coast line.
If you'd like to travel further out, motorbikes and cars can be arranged.
Directly behind the cottages is a path which takes you along Kalk Bay mountain.
There are walks in the Silvermine and Cape Point conservation areas.
Also not far are 3 great golf courses.
1/2km to Clovelly Country Club and 8km to Westlake Country Club in the opposite direction.
8km to Simonstown Country Club on the sea.
